About Us

Dedicated to Women's Wellbeing

We are a community group which aims to improve the wellbeing of women
by setting up a centre where all our
emotional, physical and spiritual needs could be provided for through out our lives.

In order to do this we have decided to set up a few events in Milton Keynes.

This would enable us to confirm the need for such a centre as well as raisethe funds needed to set one up.

Yasmine Abdulrahman

Management

Yasmine graduated from the University of Wolverhampton with a BSc in Criminal Justice and Psychology. After briefly working in the field of criminal law, she went on to complete the Graduate Teacher programme to become a qualified teacher.

She has worked in many local primary schools in Milton Keynes but has now taken a break to be a mum to her three small children.

As a mum of a young family, she fully realises the desperate need for a centre that focuses on the well-being of women; mind, body and soul.

She has considerable experience working in the voluntary sector,
helping to run an educational charity for many years.

Faizah Malik

Communications Manager

Faizah has a BA Honours Degree in English and Comparative Literary Studies from the University of Kent at Canterbury. After a successful ten year career in Publishing, working as a Senior Producer for companies like Hachette and HarperCollins, she was drawn to pursue a path closer to her ideals  and is now training to be a Life Coach and is studying a Diploma in Counselling and Psychotherapy with a goal to set up her own practice, incorporating holistic therapies such as Herbalism.

She is a PR Officer with Inspirited Minds (www.inspiritedminds.org.uk), a mental health charity run by volunteers and is currently producing the A Muslim Mind project which is a series of films aimed at challenging the stigma around mental health in the Muslim community.

As a writer, she strives to provide a voice through her writing to inspire hope to those who may be struggling. She has also been involved in arranging workshops for local women to inspire and boost confidence.

She believes that having a centre for women in Milton Keynes is essential to the very fabric of our society, where everything is born from a woman's body, efforts and from her care. We need to take care of the one who take care of everyone else.

Humaira Hasan

Project Management

Humaira has been working with families and children in various capacities for many years.
She holds a Masters degree from King's College London and obtained her Bachelors degree from the University of Kent in Politics & International Relations.
She was a 'Parent Champion' for 'Small Steps Big Changes' in Nottingham which is working to improve outcomes for families by supporting early years literacy, nutrition and social & emotional development.
She is actively involved in a charitable non-governmental organisation, is a board member of Little Owls Children's Centre and also teaches English.
Above all, she is mum to three children and an ardent supporter of local initiatives to improve the well-being of women in Milton Keynes.

Isabelle Clement

Business Management

Isabelle combines the wonderful benefits of aromatherapy and massage to offer her clients healing and a cure for their ailments, and has been successfully running her own business (Isabelle Therapies) for 10 years. It was after a move to Milton Keynes, that she became aware of the need for a well being centre for women which would provide local women with emotional and physical support as well as many other services which they may not have been able to access anywhere else.

Inspired by her previous roles as a Domestic Violence Coordinator, Healthy Living Centre Manager and on the Think Pink Campaign for Cancer Research, Isabelle often came across vulnerable women with little support at their disposal and so the centre would hopefully become a light in the darkness for many women in these same situations, as well as a place for self growth, learning new skills and connecting with other women, to build the 'village' that no longer exists for many women.

With a professional background in Business and charity as well as a Master at La Sorbonne University in International Development and Humanitarian Action and a double diploma BA In European Business and one in International Business, she has decided to make her vision a reality, with the help of a team who share her passion for helping women, she is closer to achieving this goal every day.

Sumrina Hussain

Interior Design Manager

I graduated from University of Northampton in English and Sociology and then later went on to do the graduate teacher programme at Bedford university, becoming an English teacher in secondary education.

After a few years of teaching in the UK, I went on to pursue my passion of enlightening young minds further in Abu Dhabi, UAE and was there for three years.

I've always had a passion for design and creativity and being back in the UK has allowed me to explore my creative side in fashion design and ultimately launch my own clothing brand of ethnic wear.

I believe that if you have the confidence and drive to achieve something, then there's nothing to stop you from doing just that. I've worked on encouraging and motivating young girls through mentoring as a teacher and anticipate to empower all kinds of women in the same way and am delighted to be part of MK women wellbeing's endeavour to do just that.
